Commissioned Paintings

A commissioned painting is created for a specific buyer. You will have direct influence over the painting's subject matter, colors, mediums, and size. My goal as the artist is to take your ideas to inspire my creative styles. Alternatively, I've had clients ask for me to create a painting with my own creative freedom. To create my own vision for a painting. Please keep in mind my typical subject matter and style when commissioning me. I do not offer human portraits at this time, but I do offer pet/animal portraits.

What is a commissioned painting?

When commissioned I require at least half of the final price up front. This deposit is to purchase materials, create preliminary sketches, and confirm your commitment to this painting. You can also pay the full price up front if you prefer.
Please read the full refund and payment policy below the form.

Official Commissioning Policy

When commissioning artwork from artist Emily Rose, by sending your first payment you agree to the following:

Payment Policy

Option 1- The client pays half of the total price, as a deposit, and the second final payment when the painting is completed but before it is shipped to the client. The painting will be shipped once the final payment is sent. If the client chooses option 1 and wants to cancel the painting, they have 48 hours after the payment to cancel the painting to receive a full deposit refund (first payment). If they decide to cancel the painting after 48 hours, I only allow a 70% refund of the deposit because I would have already purchased materials and done preliminary work on the painting.
If you decide on option 1, I will contact you when the painting is completed and send a photo of it. I will ship your painting when you send the final payment, not after you receive the completed painting.
Option 2- The client pays the total price upfront. If the client chooses option 2 and wants to cancel the painting, they have 48 hours after the payment to receive a full refund. If they decide to cancel the painting after 48 hours, I only allow a 90% refund of the total payment.
Accepted Payment Options- Venmo, Paypal, Cashapp, or invoice through this website(Additional 3% processing fee). Free shipping on all U.S. orders.

Communications

I will only communicate through the email you provide in the form above. Its important to have good reference photo to paint from, so I would like for clients to send me references if they’re looking for something specific. Reference photos could be the pet in a pet portrait, the building they want me to paint, landscapes, flowers, and so on. Please be aware that my paintings are stylized meaning I don’t recreate photos with perfect realism. I will send the client a photo of the painting when completed, and during any updates the client wants. If the client prefers I don’t have to send any photos of the painting. Also paintings take a lot of time so a commission will take at least 2 months but could take longer. I will of course update you on the timeline.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

When commissioning an artist the client owns the one of one original painting, but they do not own the intellectual property of the painting’s image. This means I, the artist, am allowed to sell prints of the painting and print it on different products to sell. If the client is uncomfortable with the painting being printed, we can work that out. I will never recreate the painting because it is a one of one artwork, and commissioned paintings will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
